JEFFERSON COMPOUND-Zen Garden-Wharton, TX

This meditative space is situated as a transition from the outside world, represented by the parking garage on one side, and the master suite on the other.  The sound of flowing water, the green of plants and path of teak cross cuts surrounded by soft, colorful pebbles all enable decompression while seated on the out-sized Dogon Chair III.  A surround of panels I hand-painted with abstract patterns in warm copper and mustard tones encourages meditation and release.

NEWARK MUSEUM 2000 Invitational Group Show, Modus Operandi for Imagination and Invention Installation-Newark, NJ

The four vitrine vignetes and the logn shelf at the back exposed my different creative influences mixed with the results of my visions--the Dogon Chair, Because You're Worth It mirrors and the collage wallpaper that is covered with my drawings.  This installation references Egyptian tomb decorations and attendant accumulations of objects needed for comfort in the afterlife.

ALVIN AILEY AMERICAN DANCE THEATER-Space for Ms. Jamison-New York, NY

This space involved my custom designs, placement and selections of artworks and accessories and decoupage of the column mural.  All textiles, beads and indigenous found objects were harvested by me from Ms. Jamison's extensive collections of gifts from admirers she encountered on the company's world-wide tours.  Ms. Jamison's life story is told throughout the space and in details such as the ironing board shape of the desk that references an ancestor's profession.
